STOOM18 SUB is the subwoofer of the STOOM Series, designed to extend low-frequency response while embracing the same philosophy that defines every AudioLai system: precision, dynamics and naturalness.

Its purpose is not to exaggerate low frequencies, but to complete the musical message, restoring the weight, depth and physical presence of the recording without altering its natural balance.

Built around a professional 18-inch woofer and a fully active DSP-controlled architecture, STOOM18 SUB delivers exceptional control over low frequencies while integrating seamlessly with the rest of the system, preserving tonal coherence, speed and spatial accuracy.

Handcrafted in Italy, STOOM18 SUB shares the same design language inspired by industrial design and brutalist architecture that defines the entire STOOM Series. Stainless steel, honest materials and deliberately exposed components create a strong, sincere and intentionally brutal aesthetic, where function and mechanics become an integral part of the design.

DSP (Digital Signal Processor)

Each loudspeaker system is carefully managed by an advanced digital signal processor (DSP), which meticulously oversees the filtration, time alignment, and phase coherence of every amplifier channel, ensuring that each corresponding transducer operates at optimal performance. This approach allows for highly accurate and dynamic audio reproduction.

One of the key innovations of this design is the complete elimination of passive crossover components, a decision made possible through the deliberate and precise optimization of the acoustic elements. The horn and compression driver, as well as the dipole-loaded woofers, have been specifically engineered and tuned with digital processing in mind. This comprehensive integration from the earliest stages of development enables the system to leverage the full potential of DSP technology, resulting in improved control, enhanced clarity, and superior overall sound fidelity compared to traditional loudspeaker configurations.

Stoom Series

STOOM è una serie di diffusori industriali
progettati da AudioLai, il progetto nasce da una fascinazione per le
strutture industriali e le forme brutaliste. Invece di nascondere i
componenti tecnici, STOOM li mette in evidenza: la tromba, il cabinet e
la struttura acustica diventano elementi visibili del linguaggio
progettuale.

Il risultato è un diffusore che si avvicina più a un
oggetto architettonico che a un prodotto hi-fi tradizionale. Superfici
grezze, proporzioni strutturali e geometrie acustiche esposte
definiscono la sua identità.

Nonostante la sua presenza
scultorea, STOOM rimane un sistema ad alta fedeltà progettato per un
ascolto musicale rigoroso. Il caricamento a tromba, la direttività
controllata e l’amplificazione attiva con DSP consentono una
riproduzione precisa, dinamica e spazialmente definita.

Ogni unità è realizzata a mano in Italia ed è sviluppata come strumento acustico e oggetto di design.

STOOM è attualmente in fase di anteprima e non è ancora stato ufficialmente lanciato.
